Lakewood Spring Events Guide

🌿🌸 Lakewood Spring Events Guide

Come be part of what’s happening in Lakewood 💙

This April, we have two meaningful (and fun!) opportunities to connect, give back, and enjoy our neighborhood together. Whether you’re brand new or have been here for years — there’s a place for you in both.

🌸 Mother’s Day Planting & Picnic

📅 April 9 | 📍 Lakewood Pavilion | ⏰ Morning (come & go)

Join us for a relaxed, feel-good morning focused on connection, reflection, and a little creativity.

This event is all about slowing down, enjoying the lake, and celebrating the women who matter most in our lives — in whatever way feels meaningful to you.

🌷 What You Can Do:

Plant Something Meaningful. Plant in honor or memory of a mother, grandmother, friend, or someone special Choose to leave your plant in Lakewood as part of a shared space Or take it home to grow and enjoy

👉 It’s simple, but meaningful — and something you can come back to

🧺 Enjoy a Light Picnic: We’ll have a few light refreshments available Feel free to bring something to share if you’d like Grab a seat, relax, and enjoy time with neighbors

👉 Think easy, casual, and welcoming — not formal at all

🎨 Kids Craft Station: A fun, creative area just for kids Make something special for mom, grandma, or someone they love Great way to keep little ones engaged while you enjoy the morning

đź’™ What Makes This Special: It’s low-key and flexible — come for 15 minutes or stay awhile It’s a chance to connect with neighbors in a relaxed setting It creates something meaningful you can see and revisit

👉 No pressure, no expectations — just a really nice way to spend a morning

🌿 Lakewood Beautification Day

📅 April 25 | 📍 Lakewood Pavilion | ⏰ Starts at 8:00 AM

This is one of the most important (and rewarding) days of the year in Lakewood.

It’s where we come together to take pride in our neighborhood, make visible improvements, and create spaces people actually want to spend time in.

🌱 What We’ll Be Working On:

🌳 Park & Playground Improvements: Cleaning up and refreshing shared areas Spreading mulch, clearing debris, and making it more inviting Creating a space families actually want to use

🌼 Landscaping & Planting: Adding flowers and greenery around key areas Enhancing entrances and high-visibility spaces Choosing plants that are low-maintenance but high-impact

đź›  Small Upgrades That Matter: Installing or improving things like: Dog waste stations Simple lighting General cleanup and touch-ups

👉 These are the little things that make a big difference day-to-day

🤝 Community Support Projects (If Needed) —- Helping neighbors who may need a little extra support with cleanup Making a visible difference in areas that need attention

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who Should Come?

Homeowners Families with kids Anyone who wants to help — even a little

👉 You do NOT need experience — just show up

⏱ Time Commitment

Stay all morning or just stop by for a bit Even 30 minutes of help makes a real impact

🍔 Food & Atmosphere

Lunch and refreshments will be provided It’s a mix of: getting things done hanging out and meeting neighbors. 👉 It’s productive — but also fun and social.

🌟 Ways to Get Involved (Even Before the Day)

Donate plants, mulch, or supplies Sponsor part of a project Volunteer to help organize or lead a small area Invite neighbors or friends to join

đź’™ Why These Events Matter

These aren’t just “events” — they’re how Lakewood stays strong. When people show up: the neighborhood looks better connections get stronger and everyone benefits

Even small participation adds up in a big way.

✨ We Hope to See You There: Whether you come to plant, help, eat, or just say hello — you’re part of what makes Lakewood special.
